Residential School
We believe learning should be fun, and a child must be in a safe emotional place to learn.
For many children who come to Intermountain, school has not been a rewarding experience socially or academically. Our Residential School offers a comfortable, stimulating environment in which to learn. Each classroom is staffed by a certified teacher and trained mental health support staff, all experienced in working with students with emotional challenges. A dedicated therapist is also present to support kids and families in our therapeutic school.

Day Treatment
For children having difficulty in traditional school environments due to mental and behavioral health challenges, Intermountain may be able to help through its Day Treatment Program.
Intermountain has contracts in place with some Lewis & Clark County schools to provide therapeutic educational services in our private accredited school. Students must be referred by the local school district and meet eligibility criteria, including careful assessment of each referred child to ensure clinical, medical, and educational fit.
What does day treatment look like?
For eligible students, kindergarten through eighth grade, a typical school day includes arrival at Intermountain’s residential campus, attendance and participation in academic and extracurricular activities including music, PE, art, and field trips on occasion. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided for each child. Students’ individual academic needs are supported through individualized and group instruction based on developmental levels. Some students come to Intermountain with IEP’s or 504 plans. Intermountain’s team includes special education credentialed staff as well as a qualified Education Director.
- Intermountain’s school program has shortened school days and extends year-round, with some scheduled holiday breaks.
- Students not only receive academic support but families are also supported therapeutically by participating in individual and family therapy.
- Dedicated mental health specialists provide additional support in classrooms as well as with individual children throughout the day.
